The production is set in our days. Lucia lives in the world of Goth subculture, escaping from the obese office life and hypocritical life of the rich family. Deception, forced marriage, hatred and madness have devastating result: three innocent people die and the bitter feud lives on...

The St. Petersburg Chamber Opera Company was established in 1987 as an "creative laboratory” by Yuri Alexandrov, one of Russia's leading musical theatre directors and innovators. The Company is made up of talented soloists and musicians, many of whom are Honoured Artists of Russia and prize-winners at International and All-Russian Competitions. Today the company's playbill is dominated by Russian opera classics and light Italian operas, with occasional experimental performances.

After a lengthy period with no stage of its own, in 2003, the St. Petersburg Chamber Opera Company acquired its own home in the 19th century mansion, former belonging to Baron Sergey von Derviz - pianist and patron of the performing arts who regularly hosted concerts and shows at his home. Miraculously, the luxurious baroque interior of the building has reached our days.
